Emporium is a research hub dedicated to the long and rich histories of consumption, production, and consumer practices across time and space. It is premised on the understanding that all economic activity is culturally embedded.

Three academics, all based in Australia, are at the core of Emporium’s activities: Robert Crawford, Jackie Dickenson and Catherine Kovesi.

The hub is focused around three core research areas; all inter-related, but each also with its own discrete focus:

Together these research hubs aim to illuminate aspects of the complex histories of consumption through a range of core activities: seminars, workshops, conferences; and online and other published research outcomes.
